Services: The facility provides protein sequence
analysis for members of the MUSC research community as well as to outside academic and
corporate researchers. The facility is staffed by a full-time protein chemist that will
collaborate with investigators to optimize procedures and to
discuss results.
The facility will accept purified proteins that have been electroblotted onto PVDF membranes or prepared by HPLC. In addition, the facility is equipped to perform limited proteolytic digestion of proteins, microbore HPLC separation, and sequence analysis on the resulting purified proteolytic fragments.
Equipment: Applied Biosystems Procise 494 Protein Sequencer (4 reaction cartridge) and an Applied Biosystems cLC Microblotter.
